Charles S. Ripp

It's hard to believe that it's been five years today (11/8/2007) since we lost Dad. I still half expect him to be waiting at the door when we get to the farm after our drive from Chicago. Five years ago, the Buckeyes played for the National Championship and won in triple overtime. We suspected that Dad and a few other Buckeyes were up there pulling some strings. (Maybe they'll be helping out this year, too?)

I just thought I'd use this day to remember Dad, and all the other loved Noffs and Noffs-in-Law who aren't here with us anymore. You are all missed.

Check out the link to the Noff Recipes--I'll post one of Dad's favorites. And please post some recipes! Email me at shanahan301@aol.com for an invite to post.

Denise:

A sweet picture of your parents (my sister) and a sweet tribute to your DAD. I miss "Chuck" and his dedication to his beloved Buckeyes.

GO BUCKS!!! ROLL TIDE!!!

This picture is from our wedding--18 years ago! Thank you for your comments, Uncle George.

Dad was a prankster. I remember a long time ago, he bought some plastic vomit (sorry) and put in on the floor of Grandma Ripp's house during a holiday party. I can still see Grandma trying to scoop it into a cereal box while Dad is asking if I did it and then blaming the dog.
Next weekend, I'll be watching the OSU/Michigan game in Ft. Myers Florida with other Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity brothers. Dad was also a member of this fraternity and I'm sure he'll be there in spirit.

Andy and I can't believe it's been five years, either. I've been thinking about him often and wish so much he could have known Ellie. They would have had so much fun teasing each other.

Gregg, I remember the fake vomit, but not that story! Funny.

Thanks for posting the picture, Denise!

I just know that a Washer Court would never be welcomed on the farm. All my aunts and uncles have been mentors to me over the years and I love them all very much. Great picture.

I still have a picture of Aunt Joyce lying across Uncle Chuck's lap on one of the family's trips to Ky to visit the Wiists. It was always one of my favorites because it showed what fun they had together.
